Inspiration "I am inspired by human potential and the concept that, in any given situation, each person holds a piece of the puzzle. The range of human experience is vast and no one person has access to it all. Working together, with profound respect, we can realize things greater than ourselves."

Shelby Pierce, an expert in creating meaningful and productive online meetings, serves as Greenleaf’s online meeting producer and, as such, plans and runs all technical aspects of client and staff online retreats and events. This includes developing sequencing agendas and scripts, planning activities to drive participation and engagement, selecting appropriate online platforms and supplemental electronic tools, and serving as host or emcee. Shelby also assists with meeting facilitation.

Shelby, a Technology of Participation (ToP)® facilitator and trainer, founded Pierce Porter Facilitation in early 2020 and since has helped over 40 organizations that have traditionally met in person to execute effective online meetings. This includes meetings for local community initiatives and non-profits as well as healthcare and government organizations at the local, national, and international levels. She also produces and facilitates in-person meetings and gatherings.

Previously, Shelby served for over a decade in executive administrative and office management roles at Pecaut & Company and Siouxland Dental Health, both in Sioux City, Iowa.

Shelby has a rich background in community organizing and has served on the executive committee for several non-profit boards. She also teaches a course for Sacramento State University and Cal Fresh Healthy Living on tools and tricks for collaborative online meetings.

Shelby holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in social science with an emphasis in urban studies from Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, Colo.
