Trever Dangel serves as trauma prevention &mitigation specialist at Greenleaf. He develops tailored programs utilizing trauma-informed approaches for Greenleaf clients who are impacted by the effects of trauma in their daily work.
Trever is an actively licensed psychologist with experience in providing trauma-specific services and trauma-informed treatment to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. He also has experience in trauma-informed policy development and implementation in multiple settings, most recently with Broughton Hospital in Morganton, NC. He has published several peer-reviewed studies on the topics of spirituality, positive psychology, and suicide prevention in journals such as Mental Health, Religion & Culture and The Journal of Psychology. Trever also has extensive experience serving individuals involved in the criminal justice system. He has provided outpatient therapy for felony offendersin addition to forensic pre-trial treatment and evaluation services for the state of North Carolina.
Trever recently served as a senior psychologist in adult admission services and one of the lead supervisors for the predoctoral psychology internship program atBroughton Hospital. While there, he served as a member of thebehavior therapy oversight committee, which was responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the hospital’s trauma-informed behavioral treatment policies and programming. He also provided consultation to unit staff on addressing specific patient behaviors through a trauma-informed approach.
Trever holds Doctorate and Master of Arts degrees in clinical psychology from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tenn., and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Penn State University in Altoona, Pa.
